An alternative golf course which we wish to persuade is the Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club where is placed in Mae Rim, Chiangmai province.

Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai is 18 holes golf course of the Green Valley group in Chiangmai. The journey time is approximately 30 minutes from city center. If getting out of the old city, go along on Chotana road Direction to Maerim area that is another tourist temptation of Chiangmai. This Chiang Mai golf course is on the left hand side. The 18-holes are on the smooth hill and separated with palm trees. The course have been good designed for both ponds and bunkers, golf players will be glad playing along with exquisite views.

Golf Course Information:

Designed by Dennis Griffiths, the same designer as Thai Country Club in Bangkok, the Summit Green Valley Golf Course layout is one of one of the best kept in Chiang Mai. Located in the lowlands and just 20 minutes drive from the core of Chiangmai, Summit Green Valley manages to present wonderful surroundings, air cleanness, and a mixture of homespun gardening unique to Northern Thailand. Lots of palm trees line the course, that  affords nice views of the encircling mountains. This is the second golf course in the Green Valley group, the 1st being in Bangkok.

The highlights of Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club is designed to mix together with the charming landscapes of the north. Notably the Club house, the art style and construction of a superb Lanna style delicacy . Roofed with teak wooden tiles or the northern called " Mai Pan Kled " reflect the special characteristics of the North, joint with complete facilities and the service is outstanding.

Hole 9 is the most memorable 416 yard, par 4. The tee shot must carry over water and the fairway has sand traps left and right at the landing area. The 2nd shot is also over water to an elevated island green encircled by big palm trees.
Hole 6, 165 yard, par 3, is a beautiful par 3. If standing on the tee, will see a Clubhouse and the vast water on right hand, will see the reflection of the beautiful clubhouse as well.

The facility and other services for the golf player, along with golf driving range, Pro-shop, locker room separate male - female, VIP room, a restaurant where the seating overlooking is the most beautiful. Offers good food, Thai, Chinese, European, and local food, and spa by Angsana Spa. In the near future, will open the sport complex that  included a swimming pool, tennis courts, badminton courts, meeting rooms and a modern gym.

At present the course is renamed to the Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai. The front entrance of Summit Green Valley Glof Club filled with northern bloom parks. This new possession  services as well as a much enhanced course situation. It is another field in the city town, who go to Chiangmai should go this golf course. Hole Description:

Hole 1, Par 4. A water ditch at the right runs parallel with the fairway, shaping it as it goes. There are large bunkers running along the fairway on the left. The heavily guarded green is on the left protected by these bunkers.

Hole 2, Par 5. The fairway is flanked on both sides by bunkers and the right by a water ditch, ahead is the green protected left and right.

Hole 3, Par 4. Ahead of the tee is a large bunker leading to a large, wide fairway. The elevated, sloping green is straight ahead with bunkers left and right.

Hole 4, Par 4. From the tee of this straight hole, all you will see is sand, not only is the small green completely surrounded by bunkers, but most of the fairway seems to be as well.

Hole 5, Par 3. From the blue tees you will need to strike the ball 195 yards to land this large, sloping, heavily guarded L shaped green.

Hole 6, Par 5. This 638 yards hole has sand running the entirety of its left side with a few bunkers right. The green lies ahead with bunkers protecting all sides.

Hole 7, Par 3. This relatively easy par 3 is 161 yards in length from the blue tees. The large, undulating green has water right and a few bunkers left.

Hole 8, Par 4. This hole has water running down the right side and a fairway takes a slight dog leg right to meet it at the green.

Hole 9, Par 4. With water running parallel on the right as well as well as an enormous bunker, the temptation to play left is huge, however be wary of the 4 bunkers that will meet you. Play safely past these for the green with its safe entry straight ahead, but stray or left and you will be in the sand once again.

Hole 10, Par 4. This straight fairway runs with water along its left and bunkers either side. The green is straight ahead protected by bunkers on the left and right.

Hole 11, Par 5. This hole has a dog leg fairway running right with water along its left side, small bunkers are left are right. The large green is guarded at the bake and on the right.

Hole 12, Par 4. The right of this hole can be petrifying with its water ditch and jagged bunkers running 502 yards from the blue tees. The green is directly ahead, however jagged bunkers continue to encroach the front left and right.

Hole 13, Par 4. This hole has a wide fairway with many bunkers on the right. The large, undulating green is protected by large bunkers left, back and right.

Hole 14, Par 3. This green is situated with bunkers left and water at the right and front, so not only will you have to judge the 224 yards distance from the blue tees and the wind, but also avoid any of these hazards.

Hole 15, Par 5. This hole has a sand bunker in front of the tee and water leading to a large, long fairway. With a few bunkers right and a clear run to the green, the only hazard being one bunker on the left.

Hole 16, Par 3. This is an undulating, island green, 165 yards from the blue tees and only 1 bunker at the back, however the wind can be treacherous and the distance deceiving.

Hole 17, Par 4. The tee shot should take you onto the fairway no real hindrance as long as you avoid the water and long parallel bunker on the left. From there towards the green you must watch for the large bunkers on the right. This large green is guarded at the back, right and front left.

Hole 18, Par 4. On the left of this hole you have water and a continuous row of jagged bunkers, on the right strategically placed bunkers. The small green is slightly left and has small bunkers back, left and right.
